I seem to recall a thread here the other day where somebody said ABC said it would never be released to the public. Sorry, no link. I sure wish FR had full text search.
FWIW, according to Wikipedia, "There are currently no plans to release the mini-series on DVD from Buena Vista Home Entertainment."
