Not surprised. I myself gnash my teeth at some of the new items. And then our govt honours someone who pissed off so many muslims 18 yrs ago and still does. Which renews my faith in the current govt.

I suspect Brown’s tenure won’t last long before he’s replaced by somebody whose head is not up his/her rectum.

Yet I’d be a bit of concerned about today’s Tories. I realize it might not mean much, however the logo for the Conservative Party of Lady Margeret Thatcher was the Freedom Torch. Now it’s a tree. Have the Tories gone wobbly as well? Have they turned their backs on the Thatcher legacy? I hope not.
Tony Blair would never have stood for this.
Two points:
1—I ‘hae ma doots’ about this story.
Because the phrase ‘war on terror’ and the ‘sensitivity’ re Muslim=terrorist was supposedly dropped/ordered by BLAIR,a couple of months ago. I distinctly remember posting replies on both RN and Freerepublic on the story.
The Daily Mail, the most anti-Labour and right-wing newspaper,on this story, has nothing about any supposed statement of Brown and only refers to Jacqui Smith in the Commons yesterday and interpreted her comments as: “ Miss Smith pointedly avoided references to Muslims and condemned terrorists as ‘criminals whose victims come from all walks of life, communities and religions’ “.
Sky News,ITV and the BBC also have nothing about this statement. And the Express is a notoriously unreliable paper,with regular apologies and retractions.
Methinks the Express has asked the Home Office if they under Brown intend to change the recent Blair language change and not receiving a yes, have gone with a ‘ PC language from new PM story’.
2—EVEN if Brown was stupid enough to do so,THE MAN IS UNELECTED.....a decent enough man,but one that I hope will be gone in a General Election before 2010.
AND HE DOES NOT REFLECT THE MAJORITY OF BRITISH PEOPLE.

My point was that an armed citizenry deters, and can defend against, Muslim terrorists. And the IRA is most definitely armed citizens- hated though they might be.
It might take the threat of a common,foreign, enemy to bring unity to Great Britain. That is my hope.
Just for arguments sake- would you be against the IRA taking on Muslim terrorists instead of British soldiers?
