Thank you meg.. you always bring beauty to the Finest. Will you be alone today? I think I am opting that way. I had several open invitations for afternoon BBQs/picnics & 2 specific ones for tonight. One is for the free outdoor concert given by Akron Symphony followed by fireworks.

The rain forecast dampens my desire to go that long distance, fight crowds & get rained on. I am leaning towards a quiet day today & trying to accomplish some projects that have been on back burner.

the dogs & cats are terrified of the fireworks & thunder, both coming here today, so being home with them is hopefully helpful for/to them

We have our fourth of July celebrations due to Patriots over the years who gave part - and some All- of their lives for Freedom's cause.

Showing off one such man, friend Bill who gave several years & was on the European front. Here is is at a DC freep last year. Actually we did 3 FReeps that weekend. Walter Reed, Fri night. Next day Olney in morning & Bethesda in Afternoon (the FReak show of FRed Phelps was there). Here he is is taking a break with FReeper Pups Josy & Toby.

Thanks for the cheerful post. I think they grow blue flowers like that now. At one time we used daisys & added blue food coloring & red food coloring to the water & cut a little off bottom of stems & put in water for a few hours & presto... the flowers attained the colors we wanted

was going to ping the list tomorrow with the prayer table if no JH2 ...but I noted he has an essay ready so quickly tried to add the list copy/paste & had a disaster with formatting, so just used what I had with the names I had added Monday. Hi Dolly! Yes, I’m an official “Dr.” now. I have a little piece of paper that says so, but I don’t feel any different. :-)

Once, I watched a PBS special about how companies specialize in certain kinds of flowers and can create new varieties with different colors and sizes. But it’s amazing how plants can change with a little food coloring. Sometimes, you can actually see the colors flow through them from the water.
