Sen. Schumer Furious With Bush Over Libby

New York Sen. Charles Schumer late Monday expressed angry opposition to President George W. Bush's commutation of 'Scooter' Libby's prison sentence.

Libby was convicted in March of lying and obstructing an investigation into who revealed the identity of a CIA officer, Valerie Plame, whose husband, former Ambassador Joseph Wilson, had criticized the Iraq war.

"I’m outraged,” blasts Schumer in a flurry of e-mails being shotgunned across the nation by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC).

Schumer urges recipients to sign a sharp petition directed to President Bush:

"George Bush has commuted the sentence of Scooter Libby and wiped away two and a half years of prison time with the stroke of his pen. President Bush is willfully ignoring Libby’s felony conviction, ignoring the jury’s guilty verdict, and ignoring the rule of law. Our nation deserves better.

"Tell George Bush: "I’m appalled by your actions."

Schumer adds, "We need to show Bush his actions just aren’t acceptable.”

"We expect more from our president,” laments the senator. "We expect honor and integrity, we expect moral leadership. We expect our president and his staff to be held to a higher standard.”

Schumer concludes, "It’s at times like these that I realize just how important a strong Democratic Senate is to our nation. Democrats are fighting the Republican’s abuse of power but we can’t do it without your help.”

The DSCC reminds recipients that it is picking up the tab for the petition and the communications and that no candidate or candidate’s committee has authorized the petition.

Schumer called for clemency for Jonathan Pollard, convicted of spying on the United States.

And his conditions for clemency? “If three conditions are met: ‘no danger is posed to society, real contrition is shown and the sentence is disproportionate to others who have committed similar crimes.’”

Schumer seems like the kind of guy who really had a tough time in grade school — and all of it quite deserved. :)

I think we are leaving something out here. And that is the pure evil SADISTIC nature of the democrats’ protest against GWB for commuting Libby’s sentence (which the Constitution gives the President the absolute authority to do).

Think for a moment. The Dems should be content that justice is served since Libby’s conviction is left in place and he faces the possibility of disbarrment (sp) if his conviction on their wildly politically biased charges is sustained on appeal. His life can still be ruined.

So why the outcry? It is because Schumer and the others have been balked of the sheer physical satisfaction of seeing Scooter Libby physically locked up, deprived of freedom, and made to physically suffer. They care not a whit for the justice process, they hunger only for the spiteful glee of seeing a political opponent physically forced to yield up his personal freedom.

In other words, Schumer and the others are as evil as the
Gestapo, the KGB, and the Cuban DGI!!

(Ever notice that they never criticize human rights in Cuba, only those in Gitmo?)

Worthless, worthless b@stards!!!
