Al Gore Set the Stage for Terrorism(David Horowitz)
NewsMax.com ^ | July 2, 2007 | David Horowitz

When he was in office and responsible for protecting us, Al Gore was absent from the war on terror.

As vice president, he was part of an administration that failed to respond to the first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993; that cut and ran when al-Qaida ambushed U.S. Army Rangers in Mogadishu; that called for regime change in Iraq when Saddam expelled the U.N. weapons inspectors but then failed to remove Saddam or to get him to allow the U.N. inspectors back in.

He was part of an administration also failed to respond to the murder of U.S. troops in Saudi Arabia or the attack on an American warship in Yemen; that reacted to the blowing up two U.S. embassies in Africa by firing missiles at an aspirin factory in the Sudan and empty tents in Afghanistan; that refused to kill or capture Osama bin Laden when it had a dozen chances to do so; and that did not put in place simple airport security measures, its own task force recommended, that would have prevented 9/11.

In short, to every act of war against the United States during the 1990s, the Clinton-Gore response was limp-wristed and supine. And worse. By refusing to concede a lost presidential election, thereby breaking a hundred-year tradition, Gore delayed the transition to the new administration that would have to deal with the terrorist threat.

As a result of the two-month delay, the comprehensive anti-terror plan that Bush ordered on taking office (the Clinton-Gore team had none) did not arrive on his desk until the day before the 9/11 attack.

Let us never forget that if Clinton had been doing his job instead of focusing on getting a BJ; there is a very good chance that we wouldn't have had a second WTC attack. He certainly had eight years to prevent a second WTC attack and FAILED MISERABLY!

I'm no fan of Clinton-Gore, but I doubt the 2-month delay in finalizing the 2000 elections had delayed any such anti-terror report.

I wouldn’t be so sure.

Don’t you agree that the first several months of an Administration’s time in office are at least ONE of the most critical (and some would say MOST critical) time frames in that Administration’s term?

Let us not forget that Bush was tested by the Chinese in April 2001 and maintained support for the defense of Taiwan throughout.

Clinton-Gore

“Dumb & Dumber” had to be the most incompetent team since Carter-Mondale

but for their subordinates to remove the “w” from all the keyboards upon leaving the WH has to rank up there as the most sophomoric stunt I have ever heard...

and after all the nasty things the ‘Rats have said & done to GWB; for Bush’s father to buddy up to Clinton is mind boggling to me???

“Hey, but Gore is redeeming himself by saving the whole world from us global warmers....”

And he was on the cover of Rolling Stone.
What more could we want in a national leader?

Wasn't global-gore also in charge of the airport securities???

President Bush could not have ordered the report until January 20th. The only thing that was delayed was the “transition period” in which the Clinton Administration gets the incoming Bush administration up to speed on critical current events. Since terrorism was never on the Clinton radar screen, the Bush team was not delayed with respect to terrorism.

I do agree that the first 6 months are the most critical for the new Administartion.

That reminds me, the new Democratic Congress has almost completed their first 6 months with no major legislation passed that were favored by Democrats. It seems their hunger for revenge via investigations has blinded them. They are well on their way to becoming a do-nothing Congress.

The “No Controlling Legal Authority” policy wonk had bigger fish to fry. The recreated alpha male, Allah Gore, became the new profit of gloom, the global warming guru.

I disagree. Not knowing for 2 months if the duly elected Bush was going to take office put everything 2 months behind. Should they brief him on current events? Start to implement his programs? Show him classified material? Is he REALLY going to be the Prez? Or will courts say otherwise? Oh yeah. It cost us.

yea, well the whole Chicom/NK Nuke issue is ridiculous.

NK depends on the Chicoms and the Chicoms depend on exports to the West.
All Bush needs and should have done years ago was to tell the Chicoms to get their dog, NK “back on the porch” or not one container of their junk would be off loaded in L.A., San Pedro and anywhere else in the Free World.

and as it stands today, it looks like we have other reasons to be instituting a trade embargo with the Chicoms...with all the poisoned food, poisoned pet food & counterfeit currency originating from NK.

The only thing Gore was in charge of was making sure there was TP in the Oval Office head. :-]

But that is not what I was asking. Don’t you agree that throwing a monkey wrench in an administration as it is trying to get off the ground has an effect?

Yes, it has a negative effect on the incoming Bush Administration. However, I don’t believe it had delayed the generation of this report or would have prevented the 911 attacks.
