Christopher Hitchens has a lot to answer for, but when it comes to radical Islam and the Clintons, he knows what he’s talking about.
As with most everything, snide works better when people do not intentionally get entangled in ways by which they may entirely miss the point.
Good article. I wasn’t aware that it was “ladies night” at that nightclub. After all, they are misogynistic murderers, right down to their teeth and bones, so I’m not surprised.
I thought phobias were irrational fears of things. You'd be irrational to not fear Islam, perhaps even a total ignoramus.
I don’t know that it was misogyny. Perhaps they just thought killing a bunch of women would make for lots of publicity (and terror). They’ll probably go for a kindergarten class next.
Yeah, publicity. They blow up schools, malls, and pizza joints, so nothing surprises me about the adherents of the “religion of pieces”. To me, the problem is if you deny them the publicity, you also put the general population in danger.
Is it not ironical that his fellow Leftists nod when he denounces Christian “theocracy” he finds in such traditions as the blue laws, but wonder what in the world he is talking about when he points to the actual theocrats who are trying to blow up London.
Relax, They know the likes of you are harmless to their cause.
I may be getting long in the tooth, but I never voted for Jimmy Carter.
???So only women go to London nightclubs and Glasgow airports?
I wish Hitchens would not hit the sauce so heavily. He might make sense.
Now that Hitchen’s has let the cat out of the bag, I’m waiting for the MEOW (Mid East Organization of Women) response. /sarcasm
Sometimes you can save face if you RTFA.
“Only at the tail end of the coverage was it admitted that a car bomb might have been parked outside a club in Piccadilly because it was “ladies night” and that this explosion might have been designed to lure people into to the street, the better to be burned and shredded by the succeeding explosion from the second car-borne cargo of gasoline and nails. Since we have known since 2004 that a near-identical attack on a club called the Ministry of Sound was proposed in just these terms, on the grounds that dead “slags” or “sluts” would be regretted by nobody, a certain amount of trouble might have been saved by assuming the obvious. The murderers did not just want body parts in general but female body parts in particular.”
I think the problem is your prose tries to walk on high-heeled shoes when slippers would be more comfortable for you.
Muslims will never believe that. Every self-respecting atheist voted for Carter in 1980.
Even if he's a Trotskyite, I'll take help wherever I can find it. So much for "first do no harm," with these docs. I'll go with self defense first.
“Every self-respecting atheist voted for Carter in 1980.’
And you.
Not me. I voted for him in 1976 when he was pretending to be a moderate Southerner. I was pissed at Ford for a number of reasons, one being that he kept the price-cap on oil so that Detroit could make out like a bandit selling vans that got five miles per gallon. (to add insult to injury, Chrysler sold me a station wagon that year that was a total lemon. ) In short, he took tens of thousands of dollars out of my pocket. I was pleasantly surprised when Carter got out of the car and walked during his inauguration parade. IMHO, he never did anything right after that. Even the libs sneered at him.
I think the ‘problem’ is that my prose goes everywhere barefoot, and without apology.
