If Nancy Pelosi's and Harry Reid's shady land deals weren't enough to signal to Rep. Alan Mollohan (who is already under investigation) not to get involved in earmarks that could increase the value of your own property, then you got all the proof you need that Democrats think they are above the law.

Mollohan’s property isn’t in a touristy area. It doesn’t border the refuge or dolly sods wilderness area. Its Dewey Wilfong’s old farm in a different part of the county.

I’m not saying that he won’t profit from the venture, just that it will not be in the form of property values. The increased federal and non-profit ownership of land is destroying Tucker County’s tax base. Environmentalists and regulators have driven off industry, logging & mining, leaving little but low-wage tourism jobs. What he will get with respect to that farm is a higher property tax bill.
