The two historic homes we went to still had bloodstains on their floors. The plantation house was used as a field hospital for both sides and the one in town was just in the middle of the fray. Very sobering. They’re trying their best to preserve the battlefield but it’s difficult to stop the building of Pizza Huts and Arbys.
