Homeland Security chief Michael Chertoff is blasting the U.S. Senate for failing to pass an immigration bill, and claims the federal government doesn't have the ability to enforce laws when it comes to illegals working in America.
"We're going to continue to enforce the law. It's going to be tough," Michael Chertoff said. "We don't really have the ability to enforce the law with respect to illegal work in this country in a way that's truly effective."

I bet I can enforce the laws already in the books. I just simply don’t care what LULAC, ACLU or any other dirt bag organization has to say about it.
It’s going to get to such a point in the United States with the illegal alien problem, citizens will stand up and take the law in their own hands. I’m not looking forward to day. I believe it can be avoided if only the politicians would do what their oath states. TO PROTECT THE UNITED STATES FROM FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC ENEMIES. I think just those ten simple words, if taken to heart, would eliminate any and all problems we are having now.

I call BS on this.
If we can send people to the moon, win a couple of world wars, we can get rid of the illegals.
It takes a plan and some leadership, and someone who is not afraid of the PC police.
I am an American dammit, don’t tell me we can’t do something.

Me neither. I remember all buses heading North from any area close to the border being stopped and searched by the Border Patrol. And not just at the inspection points, just pulled over ever so often and the BP coming aboard to ask questions and inspect identifications. I suppose that would be considered politically incorrect these days.

Chert off is a part of the American government. The American government in Washington and the America people have split and are no longer agree on basic law enforcement.
It this incredibly high-paid bureaucrat has given up he should be immediately removed. He should not be replaced. We do not need a Homeland Security (Interior Ministry) to monitor the movement of the American people.
We need to let the law do its work.
If, as Chert off says, we cannot enforce our laws then we are no longer a sovereign country. President Bush has completely lost it.

I remember that! Even in the early sixties. Today? We'd be called terrorists!

IDIOT, and Bush enabler. Eisenhower hunted down illegals and shipped them back. Today’s Republicans are weak @$$ed liberals, and they make me sick.
They will kill the US.

"We don't really have the ability to enforce the law with respect to illegal work in this country in a way that's truly effective."Well Michael, hold muh beer and watch this: Hello, ICE? Yeah, check out the crowd of guys standing around Home Depot on Bear Valley RD. Uh huh, yep. While you're at it, there's about 20 guys standing on the corner of Mojave and Center Street. Yeah, Center Street Park! Hey, no problem, have a nice day.
Now see how easy that is, Mr. Chertoff you jackass???

He is Sandy Bergler with a goatee. he spilled the beans on why this govt is pretending to enforce the current immigration laws.
“You will continue to see heart-wrenching examples of families being pulled apart because I have an obligation to enforce the law, whether it’s painful to do or whether it’s pleasurable to do,” he said. “But in order to regain the credibility with the American people that has been squandered over 30 years, we’re going to have to be tough.”
quoted from the washington times several days ago.
the ploy was to make headlines on the “familes being pulled apart” so that these socialists would be able to pass the amnesty law.
He and all those who support and abet him are scum.
is this a Karl Rove strategy? Is this administration this cynical?
I don’t know.

I just hope our Representatives have enough commonsense to remove this guy from his job without waiting to be prodded into action by citizens and talk radio. This should be the first order of business.
If the Defense Secretary says “We can’t really do anything to defend our nation”, wouldn’t it be time for someone else in that position with a little more imagination, and quickly?

What an utter joke this administration has become.Wonder how long it's really been like that and we're just now waking up to it.
What irritates me most are the sheeple cheerleaders out there who'll defend to the end.

Chertoff is full of it. SO THE NEW LAWS HE WAS ADVOCATING were “unenforceable” too according to Chertoff’s logic.
IOW he wanted to give amnesty so he would not have to do his own job.

If you passed a law that would make officers of companies that employ illegals personally responsible for their back taxes that would fix the problem.
