Romney's campaign has become one of missed opportunities, I think.

When he met with Richard Land (SBC), Jerry Falwell, Franklin Graham and others last fall privately, they urged him to do a JFK-style event to deal with all the Mormon questions, once and for all. But Mitt wouldn't listen. They were willing to set it up the event, help him to deal with it so it wouldn't be a stumbling block for him. A missed chance.

He didn't come out strongly on gun rights either. He could have, for instance, spoke warmly of CCW progress and committed to interstate CCW reciprocity. But he didn't.

Well, maybe Fred will pick him for VP.

Here is the problem with the Romney campaign. The face of the campaign has become a quasi LDS operation. This is what is OFF PUTTING to the majority of Christians, who regard the precepts of Mormonism as biblically unsound.
