The Castro fan club runs deep throughout higher education today. The photo below is Fidel with Comrade Sandra Spanier, wife of Penn State University President Graham Spanier, on one of her visits to Havana in 2002.
In addition to being the wife of the president of Penn State, Doctora Spanier is a professor of Womens Studies.
