MIAMI, Fla. -- Jose "El Nino" Temprana, a 105-year-old former Cuban political prisoner, became a U.S. citizen Friday.
Temprana took the oath of citizenship in Miami early Friday.
-snip-
During the Cuban Revolution, he and three of his sons opposed Fidel Castro and were imprisoned in 1964 for 30 years. Following his sentence, he moved to Miami and has been free for the past 12 years.
In the same ceremony Friday, Edgar Renteria of the 1997 World Series champions Florida Marlins also became a U.S. citizen.
Renteria is now a shortstop for the Atlanta Braves.

106?
That has to be a record. I’m glad this guy finally attained American citizenship, can’t say the same about Mel Martinez, though.

THIS is the type of immigration law which I support: come here legally, be courageous as this gentleman, believe in freedom and US. My respects and prayers for many, many years to come to him as a US citizen. And incidentally, he will vote Republican. Mass majority of people coming from communist countries (former and present) and other forms of dictatorship vote conservative along the board. They simply get it...

They simply get it...Well that explains why my dad, who grew up in Communist Romania, is quite conservative, and why he has become so thoroughly disgusted with the federal government.
