Trees.

Made of wood

Covered by lava while still standing

And they say that creationism stretches credibility!

There are lots of different kinds flows that come from volcanoes. Some are hot. Some are cold. Some are heavy, some are light and fluffy.

Don’t get too excited, it looks like they were covered by ash and cinder to me.

A journalist.

Using the English language.

Writes a sentence and it makes no sense at all.

What is so incredible about that?

After Mount Saint Helens erupted in Washington State, there was little "lava" as is seen in Hawaiian volcanic eruptions.

However, tens of thousands of acres and the trees and the wooden buildings on them were completely or partially buried by volcanic ash and silt.

So it was with the trees in that petrified forest. The buried portions of the trees were protected by the solidified ash and silt and were preserved by petrification. The portions of the trees that were not buried rotted away 15 million years ago.
