A hispanic friend and I were talking about this. He and I agree that we don’t like the idea of a national ID. As he pointed out, American citizens leave a trail of history throughout our lives that can be checked.
We know what hospital we were born in, we know where we went to kindergarten. We know our parent’s and grandparent’s names, we know where we’ve lived and worked. Illegals don’t leave a traceable trail like that. They tend to appear suddenly at a midpoint in their lives.
