Someone using images of famine and inhumanity in Africa to try to make people feel guilty for the innovations and niceties spawned by the free market. Exactly. Ramirez is frequently funny, but this one is off-target. Famines are intentional creations of governments, usually intended to eliminate politically troublesome elements. The cartoon instead dredges up the ancient liberal myth that the have-nots have not because the haves have.

Irrationally anti-iPhone? Fair enough. I always think I’m going to learn events by turning on network news and I’m always disappointed, which is probably why I’m sick of hearing about iPhone.
