All LEGAL immigrants are tested for TB and several other diseases (e.g., STDs). They cannot be issued an immigrant visa unless they pass those tests or (in the case of TB) have undertaken curative therapy which can take uip to 6 months.
LEGAL IMMIGRANTS must also be vaccinated according to a regime establilshed by the CDC. Then they must take and pass several other health checks, at a hospital IN THEIR HOME COUNTRY which has been approved by the State Department (not just any doctor or clinic).
