U.S. Sen. Ken Salazar expressed disappointment this morning at the demise of the immigration reform bill, blaming "poison stemming from some members of the Senate" and predicting continuing crisis for the country's "broken" immigration system.
Colorado's other U.S. senator, Republican Wayne Allard, issued a statement calling the bill as proposed "amnesty in its simplest form," and said the American people "demand and deserve better."
Allard voted with the majority ...
With the bill's collapse, Allard called for a greater focus on border security.
"Porous borders and lax enforcement present major security risks to our country," Allard said. "Instead of enacting so-called 'comprehensive immigration reform,' we need to find common sense solutions to the labor concerns we face in the agriculture industry and start doing what we all know needs to be done: secure the border and enforce our existing laws."

salazar needs to be unelected.
Salazar is such a little putz. Hope CO puts this idiot out to pasture.
>>Salazar expressed disappointment this morning ... blaming “poison stemming from some members of the Senate” and predicting continuing crisis for the country’s “broken” immigration system.<<
Somebody get this crybaby a hanky. Jeesh.
The immigration system is a “continuing crisis” for one reason — the laws aren’t being enforced. Simple as that.
Salazar predicting continued unenforcement of our country’s laws. (not a prediction, a threat)
The only thing that is broken is the so called government that ignores the rule of law and defies the wishes of it’s LEGAL citizens.
The very last thing the libs (including Bush and his RINO cohorts in the Senate) wanted to hear. They've been maintaining - lying - that we can't secure the border without passage of the bill. ....and I guess they thought the electorate would simply believe that crapola.
Ken Salazar is a one term light weight which says a lot about the Colorado Republican Party
He is a huge mistake and the Republicans have no one to blame but themselves, nominating a wealthy political neophyte instead of Schaffer, who had more than paid his political dues.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
Why are our elected officials getting worse? Between the buffoon(Bush), the traitor(Kerry), the Marxist(Hillary), ect.,ect. can it get any worse?? The last time I voted FOR anybody was in 1980 when us Democrats discovered our hands would not melt if we voted for the Republican. I blame the God damn 1960s baby boomers. All those old hippies went from acid to ex lax but never grew up mentally and now they are running the country and burying it into the ground. I didn’t vote for Bush because I knew he would be a disaster. However, I could not bring myself to vote for Gore or Kerry. Wonder why the president has a 30% job approval rating and congress is in the teens?? Because the children are trying to lead the adults instead of the other way around
Support law enforcement, build the fence already authorized by the Senate, Ken, and we’ll talk.
I remember back when he beat Pete Coors for the Senate.
Salazar made lots of statements about being a moderate.
However, at every opportunity to show he is a moderate he shows to be a Mexican partisan like his brother Mel Martinez.
Shows you can not trust anyone in the Democrat party.
Congress already approved and Bush signed a bill for a fence...200 miles ?
I wonder if they have built two miles ?
You probably won`t vote for Obama either, huh?
At most. And that's one in the long list of reasons the electorate doesn't believe a damn thing they say.
It's remarkable. The bill is defeated, and they still trot out the same old lie, that this is somehow an "immigration" bill. Having gone through the immigration process myself, this is no immigration bill.
