I think that a bunch of you are need some lessons in logic. Mr. Emmanuel’s article incorporates a bunch of “enthymemes”. Which means that he as left out a few premises that should be obvious to everyone—and they certainly were to me.

I think what Mr. Emmanual was assuming was that Christian families, or at least the 90 million or so Evangelicals and the other 90 million Roman Catholics are going to get serious about preserving the traditional American family for the future of America.

But again, I’m no mind reader, and I could be wrong.

However, if you care to do a background check on Mr. Emmanuel, you’ll discover he’s a sharp thinking Christian conservative in Canada who understand that there is a
a coming demographic crisis, and it simply does no good to “whine” about the problem of illegal immigration and then call him a crack-pot because he says one of the solutions is to have more babies. I mean really.

If your concerned, as I think you are then one of the issues that needs to be addressed is the self-centred anti-life philosophy of our culture. Lay the foundation for a better tomorrow and that has got to include having kids in good families.

Again, I could be wrong, but Emmanuel is no socialist. And wouldn’t dream of getting the State involved in promoting single parent factories to solve the problem — as one of you seems to suggest.

Let me clear up the matter.

My socialism charge is directed against those calling for government to breed and raise the children, similar to various totalitarian systems.

My “crack pot” charge is directed against those who reduce children to “demographic weapons”. “Fight illegal immigration (or advance any other racial/political cause) by breeding kids” is an horribly un-Christian idea. Children are individuals, born and raised by individuals. They are not collectivist numbers.

As I said I am FOR having kids and it’s great for families to have many kids. I have myself 3 children.
But the point is that this should be encouraged by scaling back government interference, the welfare state and by letting the appeal of Judeo-Christianity have it’s effect on people.

When living in an traditional, caring community with strong values, couples will have children, which they will raise to be good individuals, and thereby preserving their kind.

I hope you get my position.
