By and large I agree with you.
BUT, I suspect this leglislative landmark might be phrased like
Churchill’s “the end of the beginning” of the border war.
And the good news is that enough Senators listened to their constituents
(and maybe Robert Rector) and aren’t yet ready to totally throw open
the doors of the US Treasury for 12-60 millions wards of the state.
But, as the Marines on the beach rarely say at the height of battle:
“The issue is in doubt”.
There is a long hard slog ahead to unravel the giant furball of
illegal immigration.
