A New Hampshire presidential poll by WHDH-TV and Suffolk University shows that local Democrats prefer Al Gore to any of the current contenders.
Hillary Clinton has a solid lead over the rest of the current Democratic field. The poll, released this afternoon, shows 37 percent of likely Democratic voters backing Clinton or leaning towards her. Barack Obama was at 19 percent, with both John Edwards and Bill Richardson at 9 percent.
Al Gore, however, could enter the race as the leader. When his name is added, Clinton loses more than a quarter of her support, while Gore is backed by 32 percent.
Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani lead the GOP field. The former Massachusetts governor is supported by 26 percent of likely GOP voters, with Giuliani slipping to 22 percent. John McCain and Fred Thompson are both at 13 percent, a major move backwards for McCain. Romney's support, which relies heavily on younger voters, is up 7 percent from a comparable poll in March, when he trailed Giuliani (37 percent) and McCain (27 percent).
The poll, which has a 4.4 percent margin of error, surveyed 500 likely voters from June 20 to 24.
Gore is the rock star in the race.
Please run. Do it, I’m begging you.
Two former Senators from Tennessee...that could prove to be an interesting race.
Give the alternative -- some choose one, some choose the other.
Gore lost Tennessee in 2000.
That would be SO RICH!
This is getting cereal...
Albert Gore/Bill Richardson vs. Fred Thompson/John Bolton

This is also a comical instance where I could see a former Massachusetts governor sweeping the south from a former Tennessee Senator.
Al Gore does not have a good reputation here in Tennessee. And his moving to New York City and being the bombthrower that he is hasn’t helped his cause. Nor, would I imagine, are his plans to make fuel restrictions so severe as to put a serious dent in the pick-up truck department.
On top of that, you have the “damaged goods” tag that’s going to stick to Gore, no matter what he does.
Al Gore — “None of the above.”
I fear that this race is going to come down to Romney vs. Clinton, or Guiliani vs. Obama, or McCain vs. Gore - or some combination thereof.
It seems like there aren’t ANY conservatives with a real lead in this race right now. RINOs and Flip Floppers and Democrats, oh my!
I must pat FReepers on the back for FREEPING that poll. We gotta get Albert GOREbal Warming in the run. The stuff that sHillary and Gore have on eachother would be preiceless. Pass the popcorn.
Instead of an all-NY presidential election in ‘08, we could have an all-TN election.
I'm tellin' ya, be careful what you wish for...Algore has all the assets for a nomination, and none of the liabilities. The average idiot 'rat sees him as a wounded hero and a shining white knight combined. After he wins the Nobel Peace Prize this fall he will have the nomination for the taking.
Pray for lots of cool temperate weather and no hurricanes for the next 18 months or so...
The Breck Girl must be knotting her panties in a wad over this news
Thompson / Rice (though I’d take the flip version too) - THAT’s a ticket I can vote for.
LOL-—They must have used the dreaded “butterfly ballot” for the poll, and I’m sure AlGore will demand a recount....
Hehehe.... Every time I get ready to go RINO hunting, a Democrat comes out of the woodwork to humor me.
