It’s easy to pass a Resolution (not a Bill, which imposes concrete changes on government policy, but a meaningless resolution) begging the UN to wag their fingers at the leader of Iran. It’s easy because it distracts, and gets people with short attention spans fired up.

It also forces people to reveal their inner thoughts on issues they'd often times just like to see left covered up, since then they are forced to show that they are kooks, evil, or simply just plain wrong. Which is why the RonPaulies don't like such "meaningless resolutions".

What if his inner thoughts are that the United Nations are a bunch of kooks, evil, and simply plain wrong? Would he vote in favor of a resolution that would have Congress going begging to the UN to state the obvious?
