I agree that the problem goes back thirty years, at least.

Maybe people would not be so enraged at Bush if he had made an honest attempt to win them over in legitimate debate.

But what Bush did was collude with Kennedy, McCain, and Graham ("we're gonna tell the bigots to jes' shewtUP!") on a "cram down" strategy over the heads of the American people.

Well, regardless of how the issue is resolved, he must think it is a good thing to absorb 12-48 million uneducated, unfocused and uninterested aliens, or he wouldn't support amnesty.
