from Downtown to high-crime neighborhoods, and maybe beyond. So, according to the underlined, it isn't about crime at all, then, is it?

Another reason for Pittsburgh to claim it is "superior" to Cleveland.
I can see it now: "You rubes in Cleveland don't have as much police surveillance as us!

LOL! I’m in the middle of selling a network of surveillance cameras right now. My sales method is simple. I make them so incredible inexpensive that the sales are almost automatic. I could have intensive elephant garlic on my breath and the sales still come.

Our 26-year-old “boy mayor.” Maybe he thinks video cameras are “cool.”

In violent areas this is what government is reduced to. There is no respect for the rights of others. It’s okay to sling crack, shoot people for a host of immature reasons and why work when you can steal from people weaker than you? In areas where the crime is high you get a police state.

I feel much safer knowing that if I get mugged it will be recorded on video tape.

Next they will be putting cameras in everyone’s house. Big brother is taking over. I’m sure Pelosi is disappointed that she and her cohorts haven’t proposed cameras for the entire nation; one for each of us.

The technology is here. Right here on the Internet. The new HDTV's can each have a camera connected to the net just like your webcam on your computer. Remotely accessed by the government, George Orwell's vision of 1984 could be a reality at the stroke of a pen................

Just what a city in Act 47 needs to be spending money on.

i understand that the cameras make good targets. Could practise one’s sharpshooting skills.

Sure, let's put cameras on the streets, to catch people speeding or bank robbers... a-and in the future, jay walkers... hey are you smoking too close to that doorway? Is that your empty "pop" can?
Then we can put cameras in all the building lobbys and stairwells and elevators, YEAH! Then we'd all be a lot safer... then we can put them in YOUR house! Did you leave your kids alone while you went to the bar? Is that gun registered? is it trigger locked? is it loaded? What are those funny plants growing over there? Should you really be smoking that close to your kids' room? You aren't really going to wear that are you?
...but it's for your own good.
