YES! However after everyone was ORDERED to turn in their gold..., the price of gold miraculously increased by 30+% (too late for the law-abiding citizens...)!

Coincidence (only a simpleton would think so)!

Milton Friedman has an analysis of the causes in his book “Free to Choose” far be it from me to gainsay him. It was bad monetary policy by the Fed.
