I prefer Fred, but would vote Rudy if he gets the nod...without hesitation.
Rudy's position that he would appoint strict constructionists to the USSC should take this issue off the table for the pro-life voter. Overturning Roe is as far as that point of view will ever advance at the federal level...and overturning Roe is a no-brainer for a strict constructionist no matter their personal view on abortion.
If Social Conservatives hold out for those who would make federal law to preclude abortion they are just as contrary to the Constituion as Planned Parenthood and advocates for national health care.
I will vote against such politicians. Social issues belong to the states.
This Social Conservative considers abortion to be murder. There is no federal law prohibiting murder. On the other hand there is no federal law that prohibits any state from making murder a crime.
There is a federal law (passed by the US Supreme Court) that prohibits all states from making abortion a crime. This law (Rowe v Wade) is unconstitutional - see the 10th amendment.
