Democrats threaten Cheney's office budget
WASHINGTON, June 26 (UPI) -- Democrats are warning that U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney could face a funding cutoff if he resists a directive on the handling of classified documents.
U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., sent a letter to the vice president Monday criticizing Cheney's efforts to claim an exemption from the directive on the grounds his office is fully part of neither the executive nor the legislative branch.
Durbin is chairman of the subcommittee that handles the budget for the vice president's office. The Hill said Tuesday the letter didn't specify how a funding cut might effect operations; however U.S. House of Representatives leaders are threatening to move to eliminate Cheney's $4.4 million budget.
The White House continues to defend the exception Cheney is seeking; claiming the 1995 directive on classified materials applies to executive "agencies" and doesn't apply to the vice president's office.
Why is this in a publication called “Science Daily”?
Because they have a ‘latest news/breaking news’ section.
Didn’t Gore claim something about “no controlling authority”?
Are not Bills of Attainder prohibited by the Constitution?
I really believe Democrats are ready to attempt an aarmed coup to take over the American government.
What evidence of that do you have?
