I'm thinking that if Thomspon doesn't throw his hat into the ring, the only other guy I'd then support enthusiastically is Romney.

BTW - I read your breakdown of the candidate linked here and fundamentally agree with what you said.

At some point, and it is early, conservatives do understand the need to unite around a candidate far right of the democratic socialists across the aisle today.

In time, they will get there. Can’t blame them for wanting to stand their ideological ground this early in the race, even if the numbers don’t support that decision. It does have to be about more than the numbers...

What’s somewhat sad to me, is the tendency to slash and burn other good conervatives in an effort to defend that position. This is productive for no one accept the real enemy.
