What's going on at Los Alamos? The nation's premier nuclear-weapons laboratory appears plagued with continuing security problems. Barely 10 days after revelations of a leak of highly classified material over the Internet, NEWSWEEK has learned of two other security breaches.
In late May, a Los Alamos staffer took his lab laptop with him on vacation to Ireland. A senior nuclear official familiar with the inner workings of Los Alamoswho would not be named talking about internal matterssays the laptop's hard drive contained "government documents of a sensitive nature." The laptop was also fitted with an encryption card advanced enough that its export is government-controlled. In Ireland, the laptop was stolen from the vacationer's hotel room.

Maybe they’re just following the security procedures the feds use on our southern border.
Thank you......Bill Clinton!
Because of this government’s sick obsession with diversity and multi-culturalism they have hired endless amounts of foreigners who have no loyal to this country and in some cases are actively working to steal American secrets for their own governments. We are so damn politically correct by not wanting to offend anybody that we refuse to keep and eye on people for fear of being called racist. Remember Wen Ho Lee?
“Thank you......Bill Clinton!”
Didn’t realize he was still in charge.
Los Alamos is toast.
Joe Barton R-TX was just appointed as a undersecretary at DOE. Here is a quote from him.
“”If there was a way to start over, I would say, ‘Shut down Los Alamos. Fire everyone out there and a build a new laboratory somewhere else.’”
Los Alamos has been another world since 1942.
Clinton can bear his own responsiblity, but Bush has been in charge for over 6 years. He has not bothered to enforce laws or secure our borders. I really do not think security is really an issue for him. He just wants to advance an agenda that does not include what the American people want.
None of this surprises me anymore.
How do we get to blame Bill Clinton for something that happened last month?
He opened the floodgates when he removed the tight security in Los Alamos. Do you remember the fiasco of the Nat’l Security breach there by the Chinese?
Barton is still a member of congress - one whose district included the SSC. I'd say he knows a little bit about a laboratory shutting down.
True....Clinton started it....Bush could have finished it...
Yep, Clinton has been out of office too long to blame him. Bush cares nothing about securing our country anymore.
Its starting to look like he never did. All of his measures seem to have been geared to handing more power over to the government in the name of security, yet not getting the job done even with more powers.
I am so ashamed I voted for him twice. He and Clinton have shamed themselves and caused future grief for our kids.
I have no faith that Bush can or will do anything to stop any further terror attacks from the Muzzies. He sticks up for them over our natural citizens too.
Another example of our broken government at work. This government has become too big to be efficient at anything. I am still wondering, JUST WHAT DOES THE GOVERNMENT DO RIGHT?
We all voted for him at one time or the other. I voted for him 3 time, twice for governor and once for pres.
I think Bush and Clinton both have given more power to the U.N. in the name of interdependency with the belief that if you have an A bomb you will not bomb me because I have one also.
This country has no security.
We could have security. We just have no people in power that care about anything but money and power.
I would love to wish them all into the cornfield!
There are a lot of brilliant scientists who work there, but unfortunately, brilliant people don't always have common sense! In fact, I think some of them are too stupid to be criminals. :o)
...and a lot of spies who probably laugh themselves silly every night at how lax security is at this facility.
