I think I read that Tahoe votes mostly Republican. Don't know where you heard that. I used to have a sister-in-law in that area, and there are many little "free" newspapers, quite left-wing. Somebody's picking them up and reading them. My experience is possibly not typical.

I read just the other day that Republican voters in Tahoe edged out Dem voters by a small margin.
It surprised me too.

"there are many little "free" newspapers, quite left-wing. Somebody's picking them up and reading them." I pick the free Lefty papers to spend their money and see what businesses I need to avoid. Then I put them in the garbage to take up landfill space.

Tahoe is an eclectic mix. You have your super-wealthy with their pimp compounds—plenty of R’s in that mix. You also have your granola-munchers who work the shops, restaurants/bars and businesses, drive cabs, etc.
