“810K should like a sweetheart deal. Wow.”

Rosemary Barbour said Thursday that her company bid $810,000 for the Brookhaven Country Club. “I think it’s great for the community,” she said. The country club formerly owned by Ebbers includes almost 130 acres with an 18-hole golf course, eight tennis courts, a swimming pool, a clubhouse, maintenance sheds and a home”

810 for all this is not possible. There must be an underlying mortgage.

Believe it!! There was a story on this a while back on SuperTalk MS radio. At the time it was supposed to be auctioned off. The price it was expected to bring was between 400K and 600K.

IIRC they said place might have fallen into disrepair since the Worldcom fiasco. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a story in a couple years where it has been “flipped” and sold for the millions that most here would expect that kind of property to sell for. But I bet Mrs. Barbour has to spend a good bit of $$ to get it there.

I smell a Diane Feinstein type deal somewhere.

I doubt you could buy any golf course in America for that price much less all the other amenities.
