"Eventually what happens at the grass roots percolates up in the church."
He doesn't have a clue what church is or is supposed to be. The irony here is so thick I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

What the people you mentioned got wrong, principally, is that Jesus does not discriminate against anyone who is seeking salvation. But he is entirely discriminating against sinful behavior: not the sense of denying salvation, but in the sense that every time we sin, regardless of the type of sin, we put him on the cross again. That is, it is our sinful nature that separates us from God. Jesus’ sacrifice atones our sins, but Jesus definitely wants us to try our best to adhere to the instructions in the Bible. He wants us to make the effort NOT to sin.
To willfully live a life of continual sin without making an effort to change, is to turn the “safety net” of salvation into a hammock.
In this regard, it is as anti-thetical to its purpose as those who turn welfare and social assistance from the safety net it should be into a hammock to lounge in all day long while living off the toil of others.

These fools are new age idiots who are anything but Christian, or Jewish or Buddhist. They don’t want to adhere to any spiritual discipline or have anything in the way of their “fun”. They should be pitied, but I need to pray more to get the strength for that.

A gay hispanic buddhist teacher. What will they think of next?
“A transexual cripple one eyed Hispanic lesbian Maoist?”
I was in Berkeley in the summer of 1976 and happened to pass by a building that had a nice sign out front, the sort you’d see in front of any other official organization. It said the “Lesbian Vegetarian Trotskyite Association”. This was 31 years ago.

The gay Roman Catholic group Dignity had a float and a giant rainbow flag. Jeff Stone, secretary of the New York chapter, said he was hopeful that the church would someday change its stance opposing homosexuality. PLEASE NOTE: The group "Dignity" is in NO WAY sanctioned by, or affiliated with, the Catholic Church. The Catholic Apostolate for those with homosexual attractions or orientation is Courage, which was started by the late Terence Cardinal Cooke of the Archdiocese of NY.

Oh brother! What next? Religious groups think objection to this is an insult to God? What do they think of God’s saying that this is an abomination? Wake up people. Read your bibles.

Gods words, not mine. Can God blaspheme himself? No, he cannot.
I recommend reading all of Romans chapter 1 to understand the context.

As in past years, there was exhibitionism on display as the parade inched down Fifth Avenue and into Greenwich Village. Revelers gyrated in bikini briefs and pranced in spike heels. Coming to a school near you, if not already there.

Note to “Rabbi” Kleinbaum: Leviticus advocates against the “gay agenda”. Maybe she can find somebody to read that passage to her.

Where in the world do people get the idea that there is such a thing as a right to perversion? "Individual rights!" To many minds, "individual rights" means that I'm free to "be myself," which means, essentially, that I have the right to do as I please. This notion of rights is drilled into our heads in school and through the media. It's even commonly found here on FR.
But true, unalienable rights can only come from God, so no one has a right to do evil.

I shudder at the thought of the rites in that church! Just to pile on another absurdity, what does the consumation of a homosexual "marriage" entail, legally speaking? The meaning of a consumated heterosexual marriage is obvious. But what could it possibly mean for a homosexual "marriage"? Presumably, for a homosexual "marriage" to be valid, it must be consumated. I wonder how the legislation is written?

I actually found some
proposed legislation (California), and the proposed statute reads like this:
"Two unmarried persons of the age of 18 years or older who are not otherwise disqualified, are capable of consenting to and consummating marriage."
The term is left undefined.
What a farce.
