He signed on to the Brady bill and obeyed the Mass. girl chief justice’s order to hand-out marriage licenses to homosexuals.

And he’s pro-choice (above)? Why would a conservative vote for him? He sounds like a Rooty stealth candidate.

This is also a falsehood. I thought we weren't supposed to lie about other conservatives on FR???? There are plenty of Republicans who reject discrimination of gays, including Reagan, Ann Coulter, Newt Gingrich, both Bushes, etc.

Supporting equal rights for someone is not the same thing as demanding special rights for them. Equal rights -- yes. Special rights - no. He is sympathetic to human rights NOT gay rights.

In fact, Romney is the only one in the top tier who has strongly stood up against changing the definition of marriage as gays have demanded.

Mitt lobbied Congress in favor of a Federal Marriage Amendment to the U.S. Constitution defining marriage to be between one man and one woman. Romney testified before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee on the Federal Marriage Amendment, and sent a letter to all 100 U.S. Senators on June 2, 2006 asking them to vote for the Amendment.

Sen. John McCain and Rudy Giuliani opposed the FMA.
