That would be government of the elite, by the elite and for the elite.

I will most assuredly donate money to Graham’s primary opponent , if one emerges .

That gave me concern but when I heard him say we were not going to intimidate a United States Senator, it really made me mad!
Perhaps the State legislatures of several States could prevent some >cough...spit< esteemed Senators from returning to DC from their 4th of July vacation so they couldn't vote.
I wonder if the would be "intimidated" by that.

The return fire to that passing comment has been withering, as some of the nation's most prominent conservative talkers turn on a man they once defended adamantly.

There was a reason to defend Lott then. He was just saying something to bring a smile to the old guy on his 100th birthday. Remember the uproar? Remember how many times he apologized? Over and over and over again? Yes, he was defended by many (not just talk radio) over that, yet the dems still demanded his head on a platter and they GOT IT.

Now, it seems he's not the man we believed he was. Funny how that seems to be happening a great deal lately... His suckup to Feinstein today was pretty disgusting. Mr. Lott, when you kiss the a$$es of those who did their best to crucify you, and at the same time bash those who defended you, many of us are wondering....

What is your soul worth? Is it the highest bidder who decides?

It seems to me that any State with the power of recall for nonfeasance (intentionally and repeatedly not performing required duties of the office) would be able to retain and/or restrain a Senator.

Why not propose legislation in plain English so that they could understand what they are voting on? Is that really too much to ask?

Why not one simple bill calling for a fence, admitting that no reform can take place until a garrisoned fence is in place and they can prove they secure the border?

Perhaps people get more and more dim, the longer they live in DC.

And .. the picture I get from these comments is that the WP is dancing in the ailes at their offices .. reveling in the pre-determined demise of the GOP.

About the flap with Strom Thurmond you wrote.

“There was a reason to defend Lott then. He was just saying something to bring a smile to the old guy on his 100th birthday. Remember the uproar? Remember how many times he apologized? Would that all who are interested who live in his state send the above message. In my opinion his true “wimpism” (lack of cajones) became very obvious after the Thurmond gaff.

You’re right! If he had just stood up to the idiots who made him a pinata, he wouldn’t have been hanging in the first place!

It's not for nothing that every street named after Trent Lott is One Way.

Guys and girls — it is truly a toss-up as to which despicable cretin I despise more — Harry Reid or Trent Lott.

One fact is dead certain: I have held that slick phony cheerleader from Ol’ Miss in total disdain for many more years than Searchlight Harry.

Both senators exemplify everything rotten to the core in Washington.

Rant regarding these turkeys NOT over. Just beginning !!

Have a great week, fellow Freepers.

As far as I’m concerned, the Republican party has just gone to warp 9 and hit a brick wall; they have all turned into democrats.

What this immigration amnesty bill has come down to, is two major political parties refusing to enforce the laws of the United States so they can pass a law that benefits both the parties but not the country of it’s citizens. THIS IS TREASON!

reveling in the pre-determined demise of the GOP.

Bush has the GOP on the ropes and for no particularly good reason, why in Gods name he would conspire with socialists to grant amnesty to illegal Mexicans at this time will be viewed as one of the truly greatest political mistakes of all time.

There is absoulotely no upside, he should have just kept the status quo and let the democrats take the heat for legalizing lawbreakers.

Between this idiocy and the fact that the GOP is already losing the 13% black/ 3% homo/ 2% jew /and 30% women in every election all they need to do is lose Florida and Hillary and Obama will be in the White House in 2008.

I'd say the Enemedia optimism is well founded.

Its pretty clear that a Clinton/Obama ticket will beat the GOP unless the GOP gets the same percentage of hispanic votes that Bush received in 2004.

Its also pretty clear that the GOP will not be getting the same percentage of Hispanic votes Bush received in 2004.

This unnecessary and ill advised legislation has "alienated" a large percentage of legal hispanic voters who supported Bush last time but can't get past foaming at the mouth Tancredo types who they perceive to be racist.

Doubtful the GOP will be able to win both Texas and Florida this time, odds are good for a President Hillary and Vice President Obama in the White House.

I'm a conservative before I'm a Republican. My support of the Republican Party is not unconditional. If it turns its back on us, we won't be there when it needs us. That is, if the GOP elite are listening to conservatives.

97.3 here in Jackson is giving Lott hell and Lott hates it. I think that is why he made that anti-talk radio remark.

SHUT THE HELL UP LOTT, AND WORK FOR YOUR CONSTITUENTS!
