Let the deportations begin! I've never understood all the nonsense about how we should be sympathetic toward illegals who came here to work and find a better life. We don't extend such sympathy to other people who routinely break the law. We aren't sympathetic, for instance, toward people who break into banks or hold up grocery stores in order to support their families and get a fresh start in life. We don't get teary-eyed about folks who engage in insider trading or bribery in order to send their kids to college and enjoy the American dream. We feel sorry for these lawbreakers, and than clap them into prison.

I’m looking for a better life so I think I’ll go rob a bank.
I mean, they have all that money there to attract me, so it’s not my fault that I go steal it...
Do I have your sympathy?
Please correct source name in post, s/b Townhall.com. Thanx.
works for me.
Supposedly we should understand that they just want the “American Dream”. Fine let them come here legally instead of breaking in and then demanding it.
As for all this hoopla about splitting up families? If mom or dad are illegal and must be deported then the minor children must go with them. They can get on the list and wait for the legal process. As for houses etc they have purchased, make them rentals with proceeds above upkeep going to pay the cost of processing their applications.
I know it’ll never happen, I’m just sick of hearing all these cry babies whining about how bad they have it now that they might have to follow the laws of this country instead of getting new ones written for them.
Attn: FreeRepublic spelling and grammar police. Sorry about the run on sentence.
Tin foil alert, everybody. Is it possible that the Bush administration is pushing for deportation for this woman because they know it will be seen as an outrage to the general public, and the adminstration can then turn around and say, “See? We can’t deport these people! Nobody wants that!”
You nailed it. Because that is exactly what the coyotes are doing!!!
Yes, you do have my sympathy, and my best wishes for your success...
...as long as it is the Left Bank Of The Mississippi; that is where Trent Lott deposits all his cash.
My father suffered all his life from his wounds inflicted
during WW2. My older brother died in Viet Nam. So any illiterate criminal forger can just jump the border, and he gets amnesty?? My President is now my enemy!!
A small child is EXPECTED to understand, respect, and display the concepts of "wait your turn" and "wait in line" by the time he completes kindergarten. That's actually one of the purposes of it, is to establish basic behaviors before the "real" education begins.
That's what's so infuriating, is that "wait your turn" is SO basic to any functional society, and the president now just throws it out the window.
Just wait till they arrest Elvira Arellano. It’ll be bigger than Elian Gonzales! I can just see her kid screaming on que for ICE not to take his mother away as they walk her from that Chicago church in cuffs!
Timings not right yet, bet it will be. At best, chaos will ensue. At worst, well we’ll see. Gotta love those sympathy cards.
Then there wouldn't be too many illegals left.
i agree with you when it comes to not giving sympathy to immigrants so dont contribute to the community by becoming a legal resident that is law abiding or a citizen that is law abiding but those that are law abiding do you disagree with them being here? if you say the should deport the children of the parents if the parents are deported. thats like me saying if you break the law you should be deported to china, Africa, or Europa. because the children were born here this is there country. your ancestors are not from this country so if we look through there records and find a crime your whole family has to leave the US. thats ludicrous.
here is the problem.
The ACLU pushes the misconception you are not allowed to ask if a person is illegal.
If you use the current voluntary system to inquire on a spanish speaking person but did not for just ONE english speaker, you will be charged with discrimination against national origin.
We need employeer inquiry immunity.
As for some imagined culture shock to the children, that is a pant load. They live immersed in their culture. The spanish dialect of the region the parents come from is spoken as well as the culture practiced. They would have to go with their parents to the parent country of origin where they might, might have get used to a different mall, less easy monies and freebies and alot more trash. All the more reason to make sure that the next time they come here they come legally.
If it is so cruel to move a child to another country how can you conscience parents who move families from India or China or Greece to here? Or from here to there? Isn’t that just too cruel? Making them move without having a court ordering them? That is just a silly talking point. Very short on logic and long on emotionalism.Youare trying to obfuscate the real issue here
As for hysteria over searching peoples ancestry to find and illegal greatgrandfather etc, to use that talking point is ludicrous. At no point has anyone advocated taking a 3rd or 4th generation person and sending them back because of a ancestor who swam or sneaked in. Have you ever given any thought to what happens to a white American couple who decides to move to Mexico and start a family without the approval and blessing of the Mexican Immigration authorities? Do you think that American family can just plop themselves down and demand citizenship, free schooling and healthcare? Food, retirement benefits etc? Do you think that they would want to leave their children behind when the Mexican government through them out? .
No Shamesty.
Just say NO to Illegal Alien Amnesty!! Keep calling!! Its NOT OVER!!
