BBC Gaza correspondent Alan Johnston appeared in a video posted on the Internet on Sunday wearing what he said was an explosive belt which his captors have threatened to blow up if force was used to free him.
"The situation now is very serious. As you can see I have been dressed in what is an explosive belt, which the kidnappers say will be detonated if there was any attempt to storm this area," Johnston said in the video posted by the Army of Islam on a Web site used by militants.

It’s time for a Jimmy Carter-style rescue attempt - by the BBC themselves. I’m sure his fellow journalists will sign up in droves to go on the mission to save him.... (/sarcasm).
Oh well...
Kaboom!
I’ll believe the belt is real when I see them detonate it on Johnston.
curious, which muslim prisoners do they want Britain to release?
I am amazed at the forbearance of the Israeli government that it doesn’t directly target the BBC, al-Reuters, Al-AP, ect.
Find out the prisoner they want released and then duct tape Rosie ODonnell on him.
Maybe he could explain that the BBC and MSM are neutral and generally hate the Great Satan infidel U.S.A.
He should have known better than to think he would be safe in the Satans lair just because he promoted the his gospel of lies. When the truth eventually surfaces, writers of fake stories loose all usefullness, except to satisfy the bloodlust of sabre rattling Jihadists.
Then again, this could be a put-up job—like the Italian Communist “reporter” who self-kidnapped herself in Iraq. That caper netted her terrorist pals millions of dollars in Italian government ransom money. BBC reporters are notoriously sympathetic to terrorists. Perhaps this is a plot designed to free a few of them.
