The left loves the term “witch hunt” because it allows them to beg the question. Since ‘educated’ people know there are no witches, therefore a witch hunt is by definition a hunt for something that doesn’t exist.

The nearly universal characterization of McCarthy’s activities in the 50s as a witch hunt, is dependent on the assumption that there were no Communists in the government, academia and entertainment. The fact is that the Communist Party members and Soviet agents had infiltrated all three.
The only difference today is that the Communists now call themselves progressives, belong to front organizations like moveon.org, and they betray America not to advance a foreign power but simply to satisfy their own hatred of America.
