Paris Hilton is a creation of our Decadent Age of MTV, she did not create the decadent Pop Culture, it created her, her fame.

So I should feel guilty because Paris spent a few weeks in jail for ignoring the law?
To: Wheee The People
Strictly for research purposes only, I am sure...

It is interesting to see what people who can do whatever they want actually do. I am reading a translation of Plotinus, currently Fourth Ennead, and Roger Bacon, in his own Latin. I wonder what Paris is reading.

No, but maybe you and others should feel guilty for enjoying her suffering

No, it is not!
Paris is a human being, she has not hurt anyone,
and she was never convicted for a DUI offense!

LOL, I doubt she is suffering and she is a changed woman, by damn.
To: RightWhale
Paris was not convicted nor sentenced for a DUI, but for two misdemeanor probation violations, and for that she gets 45 days of hard time.
I guess that is what happens when you are convicted by the court of public opinion.

You signed up to post this (3 weeks after the event)? What melodrama. “Lynched”? You equate being required to serve her full sentence with being lynched? Get a grip.

Well, that is true now, but was not so on that Friday, June the 8th, that was real suffering — and what does it say about us when we enjoy such!?
Greta van Susteren gives a true account of what happened that day in court, and no she was not crying our because of the sentence.
She was pulled away from her mothers embrace at the last second etc etc~
She has become a joke, and maybe that is her fault, for she has allowed herself to become the public’s hate puppet.

No, but maybe you and others should feel guilty for enjoying her sufferingWhy? How exactly has she suffered? I would have spent the night in jail on my first DUI arrest.

Paris is a human being
That is debatable also. I think she is a robot specifically programed for optimal white trash operations.

Remember Leona Helmsley? Some people deserve public scorn.
To: Maldarr
Right. We would have learned that from the other hundred Paris threads if we had read them.

If she nominates Constructionists and wins the WOT, I’d consider voting for her. Hell, if she kills Amnesty, I think she’d turn some heads in the GOP and FR.
I don’t think she’s 35 yet, though.

and she was never convicted for a DUI offense! I thought she copped a plea in exchange for probation, which she then violated twice.
