It's a film about the difference between moderate Muslims and the radicals who want to kill us. It asks where are the moderate Muslims and why aren't they speaking out against the jihadists? And it was financed with $675,000 of taxpayers' money.
It was commissioned as part of the PBS series "America at the Crossroads" about the post 9/11 world, but PBS executives rejected it. PBS claims the filmmakers were "alarmist, overreaching and unfair."
The filmmakers say they were censored because of liberal bias at PBS.
On a topic this important, we think you have the right to decide for yourself. 888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888
earlier thread today about this production......I reposted this here as a vanity in order for the title to read as it does above. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1855064/posts?page=1

BANNED BY PBS
Thanks for the heads up. I’ll set the DVR to record it.
This has never been broadcast?
I read something about one or maybe a few CPB stations in (I think) Oregon having aired it or maybe they intended to....that and the two private airings in the pieces in the other thread is all I know about.
BUMP
Hope the DVD turns out well. Maybe it will eventually be available commercially in DVD format.
Basic cable only in my home, so no Fox News. Delighted to see the PBS folks sidestepped. Liberals distrust the capacity for normal people to think for themselves.
Will be ready on couch with a bag of pork rinds ready in honor of the prophet.
FYI
IIRC, Brian Lamb devoted an hour or two to this controversy in the last month. I wish I knew how to find the program.
I’ll try to find it on C-Span
from the other thread:
Theres a 2min video clip here.

this link will take you directly to the vid in post 10 above.....they force you to watch a commercial first....then E.D. and Martin Burke come on.....
Nothing new and useful can come out of it about islam that an engaged informed citizen doesn't already know.
I am looking forward to the PBS documentary if it is ever turned loose by the politically correct nannies.
PC is killing us...
I'll admit I'm confused. The titles are different and the Fox information doesn't give info on the editor/producers? Strange.
yeah, well, click the link in post #11 and then argue with Fox News about it......all I am willing to say is that the name has been changed......and that I’ll bet that some or all of what PBS had them remove has been restored for FOX
I’ve looked back over a month’s worth of programs on C-SPAN and couldn’t find it. As I remember, it was about tax payer money being put up to produce a program and most PBS stations refused to show it. It involded PBS, CPB and other players. Bottom line, it smelled of censorship. WETA in DC was a culprit in there too.

Islam vs. Islamist is the name of the banned film, althought it may have been renamed...I can tell what Fox is showing tonight.

as of right now, there are 516 teevees that may be on FNC at 9pm tonite or tomorrow.....that’s what I wanted :)
skroo PBS and shame on them for wasting our money!
Actually, WETA is in Arlington, Virginia. That should tell you something right there.
The PBS sanctioned programs barely mentioned CAIR, denied all links between those at CAIR and terrorist groups, and called the critics of CAIR a small vocal minority of conservative critics and supporters of Israel.
A completely unfair and partisan and antisemitic portrayl of those critical of the PRO-TERRORIST, PRO-ISLAMIC SUPREMACIST, PRO-ISLAMIC IMPERIALIST shill PR group CAIR.
I tried searching booknotes and couldn’t get anything newer than 2004
