Fred’s overall record is very strong and conservative. And he’s the only Conservative with a real chance at winning. I like Duncan Hunter and would gladly elect him if he had a chance, he doesn’t. Fred’s strong stance on the 2nd Amendment alone should get him elected over any of the three of Rudy McRomney.

I agree with you. But a close examination and lots of questions are good things. Fred has to earn this.

Oh, and I am not saying Hunter can't win yet. He can't win if we write him off before he has even withdrawn from the race. I think we should stop the early calls on who can and can't win. Let's start by picking the best candidates and give people a chance to get to know them.

That's the ticket. A really solid, hard-line conservative of the kind we'd all appreciate and admire would not be electable. Fred is as conservative as he needs to be, to be an effective leader, without looking like he's off the deep end to voters from the mushy middle, who distrust both extremes. Mitt Romney has positioned himself at that point, too.

CFR goes hand in hand with the Second Amendment, as it hampers pro-gun groups immensely right before elections .

Romney has boldly stated that he supports repeal of CFR . Does Thompson support repeal of CFR now that he knows it was horrible public policy ?

If Duncan Hunter had a vote for every time someone says that, he’d be a sure thing! That is utter nonsense and you are the reason why the GOP will continue on ‘disappointing’ conservatives. Fred is nowhere near a change of the current system.
