CIA's 'family jewels' on show

The CIA calls them the "family jewels" but there is nothing pretty about them.

State secrets: Henry Kissinger and Gerald Ford

Next week America's spy agency will release 700 pages of documents on secret and illegal operations, which will confirm the worst suspicions of its Cold War activities.

They promise to involve assassination plots against foreign leaders, domestic spying and kidnapping and infiltration of Leftist groups from the 1950s to the 1970s. They will include accounts of break-ins and theft and "behaviour modification" experiments on "unwitting" US civilians.

In anticipation of the release, the National Security Archive at George Washington University yesterday placed four related documents on its website, which record anxious discussions in the Gerald Ford White House about the collection of papers.

Henry Kissinger, then secretary of state, told Ford he feared that "if they come out, blood will flow", saying: "For example, Robert Kennedy personally managed the operation on the assassination of Castro."

William Colby, then CIA director, admitted that "we have run operations to assassinate foreign leaders", and referred to "Castro, Trujillo and Gen Sneider of Chile et al" as examples.

The documents were collected on the orders of Colby's successor James Schlesinger, who as a pre-emptive move in the wake of the Watergate scandal ordered staff to describe in writing any activity that they had come across that was illegal or contravened the agency's charter. The volume of the response stunned the agency's leaders, who have kept the files sealed ever since.

I try to keep my family jewels well protected and hidden. They only come out on special occasions or on a “need to know” basis. I’d imagine the CIA’s are pretty big, if old and not what people would like to think about. Not pretty at all. Like other’s have said, they are just red meat for the liberals.

The list of transgressions against the primary intelligence agency of superpower during the Cold War shows that, over those 30 years, the CIA was a comparatively benevolent organization. They were fighting a far worse and lethal Soviet counterpart. Bugging journalists? Sorry, I can’t work up any outrage.

Well the CIA is virtually brain dead after Clinton got through with it....and the likes of Mary McCarthy started revealing any secret that the NY Times thought fit to print.

This will just finish it off....and our nakedness will be complete for all the world to see.

That should suit the Pelosi/Reid cabal just fine.

So, if something WRONG is done and it’s “big” and REAL....then no one should know about it because the people who did these things are some sort of holy sect...???

By that reasoning, then “no one” should become aware of how our own government used 10,000 U.S. Servicemen as unwitting guinea pigs in Bio-Chemical Weapons Experiments with live subjects....???

Of course, these Veterans [NONE of whom “volunteered”] will NEVER achieve any form of just compensation or medical care from those who wronged them because YOU are uncomfortable with hearing about the REAL WORLD in which the United States Government is not ALWAYS a maker of the Land of the Free...!!!

So be it....and, THANKS for your help.

It’s always good to know you can count on the American Public to stand up for what is right, no matter WHICH political entity screws up.

Secondly, Henry Kissingass......put up as some sort of godlike creature by most....is directly and/or indirectly involved in so many back door deals worldwide that I can’t think of anyone in particular who has single-handedly done more damage to this country....and yet he’s LAUDED for being the “elder statesman”....!!!

WTF....???
