...which proves there IS a God and He's still looking out for America.
:-)
What’s sicker - - that the rats promised a load of welfare-state socialism and goofball liberalism, or that their approval rating is down because they failed to deliver?
Of course they promised more than they could deliver just like Republicans except that they played the promise game a little better.
The only thing they want to deliver is: THE AQUISTION OF POWER through suppresion of the Constitution, and HIGHER TAXATION, without reducing spending.
They are socialists. They have no other values, certainly not for the people of this country.
Imagine that--your opponents are opposing you. You run with that come election time, Turban Durbin.
You have to remember that this is a Chicago Trib piece. They place right up there with the New York & LA Slims in liberal philosophy.
That said: They also forgot to mention the Congress' apporval rating, as a whole, is in the crapper right now. That and that they tend to think that government should expand, and therefore would seek out like minded people for "facts" for their "story".
A better headline and more accurate would be “Democrats are Liars”.
There will be a lot of one-hit wonders in 08.
Part of the problem is the Democrats promised a marketbasket of things that they do not have the constitutional authority to deliver.
And there are millions of voters out there who didn’t do their civics/government homework when they were in school and they believed them.
And now we have a presidential candidate running around telling another senator about all the grief that the conservative radio programs are causing the liberals in this country. “We need a legisltive fix on this,” one of them was supposed to have said in a conversation overheard by Senator Inhofe from Oklahoma.
So what do these two women do. They have their hired mouthpieces deny deny deny deny. “They never said that,” was the comeback.
Well, I believe Inhofe. I also believe that a lot of other voters believe him too. Not just those in Oklahoma.
Voters need to wise up to political promises. They’ll tell you anything to get elected.
Then they’ll turn on you like Lott (from Mississippi) did when he said that voters could call all they want but it doesn’t make any difference to him. After all, who are we to tell a senator how to vote.
Excuse me?
All of you are in for a big surprise. The voters have run out of patience. And I don’t think all the multi-million dollar public relations is going to help any of the politicians gain the trust of the voters back.
IMHO — Jane
Clearly the Dems need to find different lies. That’s OK, there’s a nearly infinite supply of them.
I am beginning to think that the Rats/MSM constant negativity for the past 6 years will succeed in driving more people away from voting.
Imagine that—your opponents are opposing you. You run with that come election time, Turban Durbin.

Lol, that campaign theme would actually be a step up from higher taxes, gay marriage, and the abolition of guns.
The high-profile failure to strike agreement on immigration reform has added to the public’s discontent,
Actually, not reaching an agreement (especially as currently written) should qualify as a success.
Except that they didn't?
But six months after taking over Congress, Democrats find they have accomplished little of their agenda. Perhaps not coincidentally, Congress' job approval rating has reached a dramatic low, tumbling 13 points since February to 24 percent, according to the Gallup Poll.
Republicans, damaged by a faltering war in Iraq, corruption scandals and a politically weakened President Bush, happily cite such figures to argue that the Democrats are incapable of governing. "The American people are smart enough to know when they've been had,"
As far as big city newspapers go, the Tribune is about as good as it gets, they haven't endorsed a Dem for POTUS in the 160 years they've been in business.
Like, duh.
Shock and awe!

“Democrats promised way more than they’ve delivered so far”
Gee you really think so? By the way what HAVE they delivered?
