"..Finally, there will concerns over whether it would be prudent to lend to Cairo, because of possible pressure in Egypt to retain the stone or request its permanent return. ..."

The people living in Egypt today are arabic they have no relation to the makers of the Rosetta Stone. If left to them they would never have made sense of the translation.

Possesion is 9/10ths of the Law from what I recall. Tell the Egyptians to go pound sand.

Another question: Should the British return all the stuff they took from Greece as well?

That’s the thing about the BM, nothing in it is British.

“I will give guarantees for their safe return,” he promised.

Dr Hawass warned last month that if the Berlin loan is refused, then “we will fight to bring back this bust for good”.

Taqiyya? Bundle of contradictions? Anti-truth, anti-freedom liar?

Threats are for weak people.

And just how much monetary aid are we and the rest of the west paying Egypt to act reasonably like a civilized country?

Muslim promises are worth what? Not even a stone is safe in a muslim country.

Thanks Blam. The BM will turn 'em down, just as the Germans turned down the request for the Nefertiti bust. Hawass turned that one into a demand for the return of the bust, not as a loan, but because it was taken from Egypt.

I think the only important thing missing from Egypt is freedom, and that will only return when Islam is wiped off the face of the Earth.

the bust of Hemiunu, builder of the Great Pyramid

They know? Somebody said everything we know is wrong. Not only that, but everything we know is irrelevant, especially if it a Goethe maxim.
