Here is, what I think anyway, a very interesting, well informed, and carefully considered, Christian perspective on Ayn Rand.

Ayn Rand: The Ayngriest Roguette

Wonderful reference...

I respect Rand’s insistent claims that Man must have a coherent philosophy in order to live moral lives. I too believe that a sound philosophy which takes the commandments of Christ into account is a valuable thing. To paraphrase C.S. Lewis, good philosophy must be learned if only because bad philosophy must be answered. But in the final analysis I have rejected Rand’s materialistic and egoistic philosophy of Objectivism because I can not accept any philosophy which elevates the wisdom of man above the wisdom of God and summarily reduces all consideration of the needs of my fellow man to absolute zero. Rational self-interest does have its place but individual or collective greed, no matter how economically efficient it may be for those who practice it, is excessively selfish and antithetical to the spirit of Christianity. In spite of what Rand preached, the commandments of Christ and my neighbor’s need DOES have a claim upon me whether I like it or not.
