The author (with whom I have no connections whatsoever) seems to know a lot about what's going on inside the Senate. His earlier article on this topic (how the vampire bill collapsed the first time around) was very well received on FR. That's why I have posted this article in Frontpage News.

Mitch McConnell should see a huge jump in letters, faxes, emails, phone calls protesting his actions IMMEDIATELY!

Keep calling those twits Lott, Graham, Spector, & Kyle and tell them you are NOT a biggot because you want a fence built and the laws we have enforced!!!!

It wouldn’t hurt to keep bugging the hell out of the RNC and state GOP offices and letting them know just how TEED off most are over this amnesty.

He added that he thought their switch was indicative of the pressure Republicans are feeling at the grass roots level and he said that he thought Isakson and Chambliss deserved credit for paying attention to it while a lot of pro-amnesty supporters have tuned it out or even shut off their answering machines because they’re tired of hearing their constituents complain about this issue.

I have long suspected that they (the elite - particularly the “Grand Conspirators” (er, Grand Compromisers”) are very content to let the answering machine go unheard (but deleted) and the emails get routed to nowhere.

Has anyone else noticed that when the pubbies were in charge, all that had to happen for a filibuster to stop a bill was for the dems to announce it, yet with the dems in charge, actual votes are taken for cloture?

Lott and Graham at a 14 percent favorability rating and dropping.

Looks like they won’t be satisfied until they reach a single digit score.

...that could be used against Republican Senators again and again as long as they're in the minority.

Now the RINO's know how America feels. We kept voting them into office to do our bidding and what have we received in return?
Besides... It's not the rights of Republican Senators Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell are curtailing... It's the American people's rights to have representatives that represent those that sent them to Washington in the first place.

Jerks!

There was something in this piece that I have not seen anywhere else before. That is the cloture vote on whether or not to bring out the bill as a new bill. Sounds like the bill can be killed if this cloture vote fails. Someone should post the details on this second cloture vote in a separate post for all to see.

It’s time for the voters to retire Graham and Lott.

Its hard to believe that the same Senator Graham who so admirably defended Judge Pickering from the slander of demagogues like Ted Kennedy is now that same far-left Senator’s lapdog on immigration, and is now engaging in the same type of demagoguery his new master excels at.

From now on it will be hard for me to think of Graham as anything other than the guy who slandered as bigots the people who actually have voted for him in order to pander to a group of people (La Raza leftwingers) who will never support him.

One point not mentioned..Reid, after he gets cloture, will allow members of his caucus, i.e. Pryor and Landrieu, both of whom are up in 2008..to vote AGAINST the bill..which is wildly unpopular in their home states...thus McConnell is being doubly rolled..

I was worried about Kay Bailey Hutchenson would buckle to White House pressure but I see today where have firmly stated she will not support the bill.

I'm glad she listened to me.
