Thompson has publicly denounced his decision to accept membership in CFR several times in the past. But I’m not so sure it was a mistake...
When did he denounce his membership? He has denounced his vote on Campaign Finance Reform.
CFR has enormous influence in Washington and in many parts of the world. Why would it be in our best interest to have no conservative influence inside of CFR?
How is this? For clarity, no more writing CFR, just say "Councel for Foreign Relations" or "Campaign Finance Reform".
Half this board doesn't seem to know what the other half is saying because both of those terms have the same initials.

And nobody is debating that the term “shadow government” has more than one meaning. I’m simply pointing out the use of the term in this thread... which is another appropriate use of the term when refering to the Council on Foriegn Relations.
