Which Fred is Running for President?
GreatMindsThinkRight ^ | 6/21/07 | JB Williams

I probably know more about Fred Thompson than any other candidate, which is why I worked with my reader base to help draft Fred into the ‘08 Presidential race. But that doesn’t mean that an honest concerned American doesn’t need to ask the right questions before climbing fully onboard any political train today.

If Jesus Christ himself were running today, we’d have to ask the same questions in light of today’s deception and corruption filled arena of national politics, especially if Jesus is now a member of CFR. So, though I’m thrilled that Fred Thompson has answered the people’s call to run, I’m still waiting to see which Fred is going to run.

But, I think tough questions should be asked

The tough questions have been asked about Thompson on the millions of other existing Thompson threads.

Honestly, he's been vetted more than Bush's National Guard service.

Yeah I know, it's easier to type the usual anti-Fred talking points rather than simply doing a search.

I am sorry to offend you, I do not like that he supported CFR.

Here’s my tough question for Hunter. When is he going to buy some better suits and groom himself? The man’s running for President, for crying out loud. He looks like he just crawled out of bed at times. ROFL

"Talk about projection! I don't see Thompson supporters going on every thread they can find about another candidate and posting DNC garbage like some Hunter supporters do. What you, and some like you, are doing is virtually a mirror of what the departed Rudy supporters were doing. You're only hurting the candidate you support, who obviously needs all the help he can get."

That's not true. We were going to the "Rudy" threads and posting negative factual information about him--with evidence.

So my post, in your mind constituted an attack? I wonder if all the Fred supporters on this thread feel that way? I think, either directly or indirectly you helped make my point. Instead of a thoughtful and cogent reply you make some accusation that I was attacking Fred? Then you proceed on with “Not our fault Hunter isn’t polling well. Get a grip.”, I suppose as an alternative to an articulate reply, but again, directly or indirectly, helped to make my point. It’s all about popularity, right? No concern for what I thought to be a very important issue in American foreign policy and the War on Terror, and you give me a reply as if you are some high schooler hawking the hot blond for homecoming queen. As far as you rethinking anything, it will be Fred who does the thinking and I would say it would be more likely to be McCain than Hunter, but the smart money is on neither.

Yeah and Fred admitted it hasn't worked out the way it should.

Keep in mind that Fred's speciality was rooting out fraud and corruption in government. No, he wasn't picking his butt in the Senate as his critics claim. He was doing real stuff like investigating the Clintons and Chicoms and trying to limit the size of federal government.

So he supported CFR thinking that it'll solve some of the big-money that's in politics. Well, it backfired on him and he admitted it didn't work.

As previously stated, I do not believe that Hunter has what it takes to go the distance to be elected President. Thompson and Romney (although I am not thrilled with them) do. Thompson reminds me of a much more relaxed and southern Ronald Reagan (in presentation). Romney’s communication and management skills are impressive. If Hunter had the same commanding presence and way of expressing himself as Thompson and Romney, he would be leading the pack. With that being said, Hunter is a good conservative (in my opinion) who I really like.

Oh my. Polling numbers got you riled up, huh?

I like Hunter. But, face it, he has no chance of winning as President.

And yes, it is all about popularity..... ?? Hard to get elected without it.

Yes, he is. But unfortunately he'll never see the inside of the WH.

(1) He declared way too early. He should have let Rudy McRomney beat themselves up and then he could have came in later and fired up the grassroots
(2) He's running a traditional campaign through the MSM, who are barely giving him the time of day, when he should be using YouTube like Fred is now to cut some slick videos
(3) 26 years as a Congresscritter, why didn't he run for President in 2000 or CA Governor in 1998 to get name recognition & executive experience first?
(4) He's a pork-barreler. Voted for nearly all of Bush's big government spending bills. No concept of limiting the size and power of the federal government
(5) FINALLY -- He's being way too serious. Crack a smile Mr. Hunter! Show some warmth instead of looking like Keanu Reeves.

**sigh** That would be an answer to prayer for certain.

Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus!

I agree completely. He is not perfect and the only time he will spend in the WH is having lunch or going on a tour, but I still like and respect Hunter. Thompson and Romney have panache (although both have negatives). I will support the Republican candidate regardless——even McLame or Rooty (yikes!).

Most impressive thing he ever did was with Blanton, to be honest, cause Blanton was dangerous, of course, no one is going to know who Blanton is, which is why he needs to tell people.

Did I seem riled up? If so, I am not, I promise, even though you avoided every substantial point failing to address any of them. Still, I ain’t mad at ya’. I expected as much, blind faith, with much committed to trust. I just ask the questions, just one way of learning, it’s called the Socratic method, and you can learn as much sometimes from lack of response as voluminous response. I hope you never find out, but I wonder just what comfort your poll numbers will be if you’re living in a 3rd world crap-hole and the America you now know, no longer is?

I would not hesitate to support FRed as a candidate who will select a cool, no frills, get it done staff that will to a job of work, without all of the BS.

Bob Novak claims that the following people are gathering around Thompson's candidacy:

Even before the official announcement of candidacy by former Sen. Fred Thompson (R-Tenn.), an all-star team of GOP operatives is gathering around him -- Lawrence Lindsey, Ken Khachigian, Tim Griffin, Dave Bossie and Victoria Toensing, with more to follow.
Novak reported this HERE

Those who know anything about these people can chime in.

That's not what I meant, LOL. Sadly, I am aware of the realities in our world, and that's one of the reasons I support JC, even against the odds.

RUN, Fred, Run!

Zero, you lowlife. Zero. A word that could easily be used to describe a lowly piece of filth like you chiding people about cancer. If you were smart enough, you’d be ashamed of yourself.
