If I had the last 15 years yo do over again, I would have skipped the llamas/alpacas and stuck with the camels. He is our Farm Ambassador, very loving and gentle, he works with autistic kids, and the disabled. He is a gelding (important) and just turned 11 in June, and most likely will live to be 60.

He sounds great. Sounds like you will have to make plans for his care in your will if he lives a full life. I know that people who raise some parrots have to do that as some of them can live a century or more.
We have one young male (Jasper) who is likely to be one of our Farm Ambassadors. He is calm, gentle, and leads very well. We have already taken him to several gradeschool classes in the area and given talks on alpacas. The kids love him. If you would like to see some pictures you can go to my FR personal page (click my screen name) and I have the name of our farm website listed there.
Thanks for the info and the great morning wake up picture.
