It wasn’t just Bush and Rove. The GOP in Congress, in particular appropriators like Ted Stevens that can’t stop spending. Also John McCain crossed the aisle many times to vote with RATS, and in particular push through his fake campaign finance reform.
We need more GOPers like DeMint, Coburn and Sessions.

Well, I do agree with that, but you have to understand that Bush and Rove took control of the DNC completely after 2004 and were responsible for the re-election effort. Now the GOP in congress did not help out much.
