With a few minor word changes your statement could be used to justify open ended welfare.

As long as we are willing to be the Iraqi’s free police force, what incentive do they have to take that responsibility upon themselves?

Anything could be used by anybody to justify anything. Especially if you have a Clintonesque Type A personality.

But the fact is that we shouldn't leave Iraq totally to the Iraqis until Al Queda has been destroyed to such a degree that they cannot threaten the US. It's not just an Iraqi matter.
