Yeah, really. Attendance cards? Am I in homeroom again?
I never even fill out those Visitor cards in the hymnals. And I’ve been visiting a lot.
I once visited a church in my non-churched days and smiled and passed the visitor's logbook, without signing it. I did not want a visit or call, or anything. Just to check out what was being said. A deacon tapped me on the shoulder and handed me the register with a pen! God love these people! I grinned and signed some bogus name and telephone number. I think they had a real active visitation program and wanted to be sure they could get in contact with me. I know now that they wanted to be sure I had a clear understanding of who Christ is and how to know him, and I love them for that.
It was sure strange to me at the time, though.
